Ramen Hopping - Sanpoutei Ramen

Went Ramen Hopping (or so we call it since we go visit random ramen shops every time during the holidays) with bestie at holland. It was the newly opened ramen shop; Sanpoutei Ramen (at time time we visit it was newly opened).

There are two ramen shop that I know of in Holland. The other one is Yoshimaru Ramen bar. Even though Sanpoutei Ramen has a lot more choices, I still think that Yoshimaru Ramen bar is a lot nicer. The noodles are especially nice there. 

PS: The matcha ice cream was awesome, but small.

Labour Day - PhotoShoot

So Yesterday was Labour day, and my sister and I decided to take out our cameras and go for a photo shoot around Singapore. We picked China Town and Clarke Quay; according to our grandpa, there would be a lot of random buildings around to take. Unfortunately in Singapore, there is very limited places with vintage looking buildings and places with lesser people. So here is what I took:

Dessert

So finally at China Town, we decided to sit down and eat dessert at one of the popular dessert shops. I ordered Mango Snow ice while my grandpa ordered green tea snow ice. They both tasted awesome. Though I was pigging, eating both portions. The green tea snow ice really tasted like Hokkaido ice cream.

Strangers Reunion

So, following the cafe craze with all the teenagers, me and my bestie decided to give strangers reunion a visit. Just a side note; you can find all sort of cafe in these three websites: http://thecafection.com/ , http://www.ladyironchef.com/ and http://foodmakespeoplehappy.blogspot.sg/. So every table has this vintage looking bottle (filled with tap water). The place is small, and cram, and since it was lunch hour, and it was packed with people, our 2 seater table was definitely not enough for all that we had ordered.

Strangers Reunion - English Breakfast Tea

So I ordered English Breakfast Tea, and wondered why would tea be so expensive. Than I realized why when this whole tea set came. I'm sure this would be more appropriate if I was here for high-tea, but no, I was there for brunch. So this tea set kind of took up the large area. 

Ham Hock Benedict

Both me and my bestie ordered the same; Ham Hock Benedict. I have no idea what is Ham Hock. But just to describe to you the taste, it taste a little like cheese. I really like the combination of all the ingredients on the plate. (sorry for the super blur picture). I've always loved eggs benedict. But sadly, my bestie's poached egg was a little under cooked.

Butter Milk Waffles

After the egg's benedict, we shared a mutter milk waffle with vanilla ice cream and sliced fruits. The Vanilla ice cream was awesome. It really complimented the waffle a lot, and kind of covered the over-the-top strong butter and milk smell from the waffle. The waffle itself wasn't that good, but the ice cream was to die for.
For people who want to eat only the waffles, there is a shop beside strangers reunion that sells their waffles only.

Korean Ramyun

After the satisfactory brunch we had, we went to orchard (since we didn't have anything to do), bought some stuff and ate again. We are at this shop at Scape lvl 1. It was just so tempting, even though we aren't hungry, we still ate.

Watami - Curry Rice

Japanese rice served with Katsu and Japanese curry. I kind of like the Katsu, juicy and crispy, but lacking in flavour, but than again, that's why the curry is there for. I didn't really like the curry though. I don't know if it's just my odd taste buds, but I'm pretty sure that they added Tomatoes in the curry. A bit too spicy for Japanese curry, since Japanese curry is usually not spicy. But I like spicy. 

Matcha Pudding

Matcha flavored pudding topped with matcha sauce, red beans and whipped cream. The pudding itself; superb. I like everything, minus the red beans (not a fan of red beans).

Coffee Bean - Crusty Bread

Went to JEM with my sister. Shared breakfast. The Bread was really soft~

Paris Baguette

After lunch we went to Paris Baguette to eat dessert. I had Strawberry Short cake and Original pudding. My sister had Caramel Pudding. The Pudding wasn't very firm, so I didn't really like it. The Short cake also has a cheese taste to it. But it was nice overall. Especially since the whipped cream is not too heavy or rich.

Hokkaido Cheesecake

So.... My friend actually came down to me school (Ngee Ann Poly), to give me my birthday present, after my ITB (information technology business) test. Was really dreading that test, so I was really happy when she said that she would be coming down~ 

We went down to King albert park to have a mini chat session at spinelli. We were about the only two person that were talking there, since everyone there was studying for the test next day. (also had my Blaw test the next day).

The cheesecake was awesome!! I usually don't like cheesecake, especially because they are too rich and too dense and packed with cheese, for me. But this cheesecake was really fluffy and nice. At the same time not too overpowering. Mild cheese taste with that fluffy layers that melts in your mouth. Really liked it.

Meji Ice cream

Tried this mini meji ice cream. It's really good! I like how it's not very creamy (I don't like ice cream that leaves oil residue on your lips.) Good size for me, so that I don't over eat. Since I always eat ice cream after dinner.

Nails

Finally did my nails. Didn't do for like ages. (by myself that is). I just painted normal colours. The base brown-glitter colour is from Butter London in All Hail the Queen. The Copper glitter is from Orly in Watch it Glitter. Honestly, It's a really nice copper colour. But i guess the contrast between the soft brown and the edgy copper doesn't blend well...

Drink

Had Hand shaken Lemon Tea. Which taste like water with lemon and lime. Quite nice, but nothing special.

Tarts

When we got there, there was a very limited amount of tarts we could choose from. And honestly, I thought they they would have things like Pancakes and stuff like that (from the website). The three tarts here is Raspberry, pear and Mixed berry. Only the Mixed Berry has the custard filling.

Raspberry Tart

Honestly, it does not taste good. The tart was warm, which was weird. I was also thinking that it would have a custard filling, but they didnt have. The raspberry was also very sour. The pastry tasted a little uncooked.

Steam Boat

Had steamboat at my house. Used tom yum broth stock for the soup base.

Had Ramen, black pepper sausage, fish balls, Shabu Shabu, Mushroom, tofu and tofu puff. The shabu shabu, sausage and ramen.

Chocolate Cake

Friend made Chocolate cake. Used Chocolate chips, butter, cake flour, eggs and vanilla extract. We melted the butter and chocolate chips first and mixed them together. Than we beat the eggs till fluffy (which took awhile), and add the chocolate mixture in followed by the flour and vanilla extract. Than we stuck it into the microwave (since my oven didn't work).

Dessert

Added vanilla ice cream on top to balance out the richness of the chocolate cake. Was quite nice, minus the fact that it got a little dry and lacked the moisture.

Marina Square - St. Marcs Cafe

Ordered Strawberry Milk from there. It's basically just shaved iced with Strawberry Syrup and Frozen Strawberry Pieces on the bottom and Soft serve Vanilla ice cream with syrup. 

It's quite nice. I really liked the Vanilla Ice cream. Thought that they gave way to much Shaved Ice.

Tea: Wimbly Lu

Had larva cake with vanilla ice cream. at wimbly lu. I really liked the ice cream, not to heavy on the cream and a very light flavor to it, with a stronger vanilla scent, which really complements the larva chocolate, because it was just too rice and heavy for me.

Tea: Wimbly Lu

Ordered Matcha latte (that's iced latte at the back). Didn't really liked it because it tasted way to diluted. It barely had any taste.

Lunch @ Fruit Paradise

Went to Fruit Paradise at Plaza Sing. Had Spaghetti, but (no offence) it tasted terrible. For dessert, had Mango Strawberry Fruit tart together with earl gray. the fruit tart was really nice. I loved the custard cream and the pastry. 

Tea Break @ Na Na's Green Tea

Ordered this traditional matcha and a chocolate parfait (forgot to take picture). The parfait was really huge, and by the time i finished the ice cream, my whole tongue was numb. But both the tea and parfait was really nice.
